ABOUT US

More than a caterer. A full-service event team.

The kitchen is where Scratch starts. It isn't where it stops.

OUR STORY

Food was never the whole job.

Scratch didn't begin with a catering company. It began with two people who had spent their careers in hospitality and couldn't stop thinking about food.

Monica's work took her to WingStop's headquarters in Dallas, where she helped open more than 350 restaurants. Tyler's took him to Topgolf's headquarters — corporate finance, golf operations, and experiential hospitality, running Stadium tours, mobile activations at PGA Tour events, and sponsorship builds at the Masters. Between them, they'd learned how to make big, complicated events look effortless.

They also ate their way across the country. “My wife and I are foodies,” Tyler says. “We spent our years dating traveling the country for work and eating as adventurously as we could.”

In 2019 they moved to Kansas City to get married and start a family. In May 2020 — not the easiest month to open a hospitality business — they started Scratch.

It's grown from a catering company into a premium catering and event operation, with a casual fine-dining and wine bar restaurant along the way. But the reason it works is the thing they brought with them: they never learned to think of food and the event around it as two separate jobs.

WHAT WE DO

We run the whole event.

Catering is the front door. Behind it is an event team that handles the parts most caterers won't, from the first walkthrough to the final breakdown.

THE TEAM

The people behind it.

You'll work with more than the two who started Scratch. The people below plan alongside you, and they're the ones on-site when it counts.
